## About the bank

Aloqabank is a state-owned bank with Central Bank license No. 48, issued on 22 March 1995. It stands out for two things: an online application for a card with UnionPay, and published tariffs for it. In March 2026 HUMO enabled QR payments via Alipay+ for Humo cards in the bank's app; this applies to Humo cards, not to Uzcard-UnionPay.

## Account for non-residents

A 2025 Spot review names the bank among those where non-residents can get a card. The Uzcard-UnionPay page says foreigners are admitted when entering and residing in Uzbekistan. The wording on length of stay is ambiguous, so call the bank before applying.

The application is made online through the Zoomrad app, with identification done in the app itself. This is not fully remote opening for any foreigner: ask separately whether a PINFL (personal identification number) and a registration certificate are required. If you already have a PINFL, it will speed things up.

## Cards and payments

The main product for foreign customers is Uzcard-UnionPay, a soum card with NFC that works in Uzbekistan and, according to the bank, in more than 170 countries. It is valid for three years. Abroad, purchases are charged in soums at the bank's USD selling rate, and cash withdrawals cost 1% or UZS 25,000. Since the effective price depends on that rate, compare it with the official Central Bank rate before you travel. Mir cards do not work in Uzbekistan, and the bank gives no information on SBP (Faster Payments System).

## Tariffs and limits

| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Issue | UZS 44,000 (free under a payroll program) |
| Maintenance | free |
| Transaction fee | 0% |
| Cash withdrawal abroad | 1% or UZS 25,000 |
| Validity | 3 years |

The tariffs follow the card page and may change. The limits are that the card is in soums, the terms for foreigners are vaguely worded, and the Zoomrad app requires identification.

## Who it suits

  • Those who want an inexpensive local card with UnionPay and do not want to pay for maintenance.
  • Those who prefer to apply online rather than visit a branch.
  • Travelers who plan to pay in countries where UnionPay is accepted.

Before applying, ask whether a foreigner needs a PINFL and a registration certificate, how identification works in Zoomrad, and where to collect the card. Also ask how the bank sets its USD selling rate.
